American Leadership Academy is currently accepting applications for Special Education Paraprofessionals for grades K-6 for the 2024-2025 academic year in Sierra Vista, AZ. Candidates must possess a valid AZ IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card and CPR/First Aid Certification.

Qualifications:

• Completed at least 60 credit hours of study at an institution of higher education OR obtained an associate's degree or higher OR a passing score on the AZ Dept. of Education Paraprofessional assessment
• Experience and/or coursework in teaching reading or math is preferred, but not required

Duties include:

• Modifying or adapting instruction for students with disabilities
• Working with individual students or small groups of students to reinforce learning of material or skills introduced by the teacher
• Providing one-on-one assistance to students with disabilities
• Guiding independent study, enrichment work, and remedial work with students as set up and assigned by the teacher
• Assisting students with self-care tasks (as necessary)
